The PCU will operate as a centre of excellence for teaching and research in modern and emerging science, engineering and technology. The university will go beyond traditional education in Pakistan, through inculcating in students the spirit of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship. The programmes at the PCU seek to offer an engineering education in Pakistan with an international orientation - an excellent preparation for a global working environment. 

A sound theoretical foundation will be balanced by a mixture of practical work in internships, projects and thesis work. At this start-up stage, the PCU aims to undertake only graduate programmes of study. Various courses are being offered in collaboration with partner universities
